The sequel
Last post, I talked about everybody's life being a movie.
Right now is the beginning of my movie. Considering recent events, one might think it's the end. That's silly, you've got it backwards, it's the beginning. Just like the beginning of most movies, some things have gone to crap. Things haven't turned out the way I expected, mostly through no one's fault but my own, so I guess this movie is about me fixing those things. It only goes up from here.
Firstly, my movie would begin with a montage of me walking by Fisherman's Wharf yesterday. I had a job interview down there for a ferryboat tour company in a sales support position. Haven't gotten the job yet, and in fact there are about 40 applicants, but I'm still praying. So I'm walking by the Bay up Stockton Street. There'd be some light music playing in the background like from About A Boy, and my internal monologue would be dubbed over. For some reason, I imagine my internal monologue to be in a London accent like Hugh Grant's.
So the montage, the internal dialogue, and me walking up Stockton street by iconic images of San Francisco goes on until I get to Chinatown.
There, I pig out and but enough dim sum for four people. I love dim sum.
So these are the opening scenes of my movie. Along with me snapping at my dad. Then me having a son-to-father chat with my dad. Maybe me talking on the phone with Angelica, or edited out in favor of a scene hanging out with Brooks, or more meaningfully, with Carmel talking over the kitchen table late last night.
Yep, my movie's just beginning. Or hell, maybe it's the middle already and I've slept through the beginning....
